Maybe Not-so-L B?
So far, we're seeing none of the sibling rivalry we had feared between LB and his sister (knock wood). He loves holding her in his lap.

Speed Racer
In a burst of nostalgia, my parents bought a Big Wheel for the boys for Christmas. LB isn't able to reach the pedals yet, but he sure likes pushing it around Flintstone-style.

Hey, why not?
If you can't experiment with silly facial hair during a 7-week leave from work, when can you?

Huzzah!
The logjam has broken, so the recent posts date back as far as Christmas Eve. I'm hopeful that the problem is taken care of and I'll be able to keep up the posting. My readership more than doubled the week that TS was born, and I'd like to keep some of you around. :-)

Exercise
I took a long walk to the grocery store tonight, about an hour all told. It was nice to get out, but the weather was pretty dreary.

LB Milestone
I promise not to be one of those dads who obsess about the bathroom habits of his children. My dad already jokes that Kim and I compare diapers using the four C's (Consistency, Color, Carrot Weight and Corn Content?). Anyway, I just wanted to note that LB used the toilet tonight of his own volition, and seems very keen to keep it going. Good news! Having two in diapers is a lot of work, not to mention expense.

Muuuuuch Better
Upon reflection, I decided that the hat was salvageable. I added another 13 rows of ribbing and it tightened up nicely. It's still a bit puckered on my head, but my dad's is 2" bigger around, so I think it will fit him well.

New Project
When my dad was visiting this weekend, he intimated that he'd like a hat, so I'm working on one. It's made with a self-striping yarn and a pattern of my own devising, based on a pinwheel crown and increases using the Fibonacci sequence. I gotta maintain my geek cred somehow, right?

My favorite piece
A capella male voices only, singing "Cherubim Song". My phone's "voice note" feature only records one minute, but I hope the dynamic changes come through. It's a beautiful piece.

SNOW!!
No matter what it means for the fate of folks here in Oklahoma, I can't help but get excited about the first snowfall. It's the one thing that's guaranteed to raise my spirits no matter what my mood and circumstances.

Great news!
The boys are playing at the mall again. Different mall this time, and a different reason. Kim's getting her nails done as a last pampering before the big day, and we could, if we wanted to, go home to a heated apartment! Our power finally came back on at about 2:00 this afternoon. Since the room is paid up for tonight, we're going to stay at the motel and swim once more. Tomorrow we move back home!

Update
Well, TS is getting closer! At yesterday's appointment, Kim's Dr. was a bit concerned about her blood pressure, and she took Kim's frustration and general malaise into account, so she arranged to move up the C-section date to a week from Monday. Of course, if TS decides she wants to come earlier, there's not much we can do about that...

The game is a foot?
Tonight I completed my first adventure as a D&D Game Master, after more than 20 years as a player. It was nerve-wracking at times, but I think everyone had a good time. Now all that remains is to tally up experience points for the players. I think it'll be awhile before we play again, with TS on her way and all.
