Shag Nasty

Would you call it an art car? Hard to say. Certainly grabs your attention, though.

Exercise

As traumatic as our move has been, one great advantage is that we are now much closer to church. Tonight, after a late meeting during which LB fell asleep, he and I walked home. It took about 45 minutes.

Ouch

Migraine. Crap. Just what I need.

A late entry for the library RenFaire photos. Here's me and LB. He's dressed as more of a Jimmy Buffett kind of pirate.

Dad and I got the same fortune at Pei Wei today.

Maize

This afternoon we visited the Denver Botanic Gardens' 8th Annual Corn Maze. Here Kim gives BB a botany lesson about rhizomes.

Recent posts

Several posts have come in thick and fast now that we're back in Denver, and not all in order. In fact, there may still be one or two coming through. It seems I needed to reboot the Curve to undo the logjam.

Steamy Springs

We spent several hours today at the hot springs that gave Steamboat Springs its name.

Exercise

Nana, the boys and I took her two dogs to the park this afternoon. Just shy of an hour's walking.

LB inspects Nana Jennie's garden.

Our trip to Steamboat Springs is to celebrate my aunt Jennie's birthday. Right now we're in her Denver backyard on a beautiful day.

LB = Little Beethoven?

I opened up the piano at the B&B today, and the little guy just had a ball with it.

Backyard fun

The boys are loving climbing the rocks in the B&B garden.

Truck stop graffiti

"Communist Demoncrats Suck"

"Facist Republicans Swallow"

Nice to see the caliber of American political discourse remains high.

LB enjoying the ride

We're on our way to Colorado. It's me, Kim and the boys with my Mom and Dad, and we rented a 15-passenger van for the trip.

Dearth of entries

Well, I'm sorry that I've not been posting much recently. Part of the trouble is that there's so much going on. It's hard to find time to tell you about it all as I'm in the thick of it. I have a new set of job responsibilities, for one thing. I'm now the Young Adult Librarian at my library. Also, we've had to move very suddenly, just at the time I was taking some vacation preparatory to a family reunion in Colorado this coming week.

On top of all that, my excitement about my new phone has brought with it some frustration. I try to send posts as usual, but they error out with no explanation. My first thought, of course, is that the photos are too big, but I've reduced the resolution and it doesn't make a difference. Some go through just fine, but most don't.

Anyway, that's my story. I'm hoping to send some entries from my vacation. Love to all!

More RenFaire Photos

Photobucket Album

There's a collection of other Renaissance Faire pictures in a Photobucket album. View and enjoy!

Captain Aaarvey!

The library held its annual Renaissance Faire yesterday. Captain Aaarvey was a member of the Tulsa Ship Modelers' club who dressed up for the occasion and brought along his pet parrot.

Exercise

This aternoon I headed to Braum's for milk. It was a half-hour of walking, but 15 minutes of that I was carrying 3 gallons of water-type liquid. Since a pint's a pound the world around, that's an extra 24 lbs!

Price Tower

The Price Tower in Bartlesville, OK is the only skyscraper ever built by Frank Lloyd Wright. It's a fascinating structure.

Reading together

For a long time, LB was too squirmy to read to, but he's finally getting interested in books. Here we're sharing 365 Penguins, a very cute counting book.
